Huh. I actually cant remember the last time I saw one. There was a guy I worked with who had one but it crapped out at 150k miles.

Pretty poor quality plus production ended resulted in not a long lifespan for their used market.

Walter Whites Pontiac Aztek are the worst looking cars of the era imo. I didn't care for the PT Cruiser but damn the Aztek was horrible.

Walter Whites Pontiac Aztek are the worst looking cars of the era imo. I didn't care for the PT Cruiser but damn the Aztek was horrible.

Azteks were awesome. Had one as a company vehicle that had a giant fold out table built in, a 6 pack cooler between the front seats, and was just very functional tbh.

If I had a personal one the tent version would be awesome. Big tent the opens up with a fold out bed area up off the ground. They had cool options.

They're ugly but they're so ugly they're cool.

Also lol at pt standing for Plymouth truck when the end result was neither.

I actually had a black model car of the Prowler. I thought it and the Dodge Copperhead were neat new ideas. Neither lasted long though.

I think it was mainly due to the lack of quality.

Aztec's were known as "horrible undesirable cars" for ages, then there was a renaissance and they're suddenly super desirable. The same thing happened with the Subaru Baja. They have a hardcore fanbase now, but back when you could buy them new, people considered them a joke car.

The copperhead only ever got built as a prototype iirc. They were sorta cooler. Prowlers are eh.

I remember saying

"I'LL NEVER OWN ONE OF THOSE, IT'S UGLY"

So obviously the first car I buy is its cousin, the Chevrolet HHR.

My extended family is probably responsible for 10% of all Aztec purchases.

started with an Aunt who hadnt owned a car since like 1982. Saw the Aztec, realized it was literally the perfect car and bought a brand new one. Then another aunt bought one, seeing what Jan had. Then a cousin and a niece bought one. At one point the extended family had like 8 of them. About a year after they went out of production the first aunt was able to find a new one on the lot for like 30% off so she bought that and gave her first one to another cousin.

Azteks were given away in Tim Hortons roll up the rim contest here in Canada back in the day. Probably why there was so many.

they're hideous, but probably one of the best camping vehicles ever. Literally a built In tent and air mattress and the center console was a removable cooler. Pretty sick. Walter White made them cool again and now used ones are going for 10 k easy.
