For most normal people (not the super rich), credit score and income determines whether or not you get approved for a credit card.

If I had wanted a credit card back then I would have had to, I just paid other debts until it hit the low 500s and was able to get an unsecured Capitol One card tho.

It WAS not great. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago it was 580 which I got to 660 last year to buy a house and now it's low to mid 700.

They aren't really going to care about your income for a credit card. I mean yeah, they will ask you but it's all stated income. That means no documents are required to support.

It's different for a mortgage because they make you prove your income in most cases.

Chase estimates my score at 779. Not sure what else I can do as I always pay on time and pay off the entire balance before it accumulates interest.
Depending on your age, maybe nothing. It just keeps inching up over time if you stay "good"

Sitting at 770 right now. It usually fluctuates a lot around that number, which is weird because my spending habits and credit usage are pretty static

It was in the 800s before I refinanced in February I think (holy shit these months are blending together) and nosedived by like 60 points. I've been using my debit card less and my credit cards more to help bump those rookie numbers up faster.
