My only complaint is that most of the terrain on uncharted planets were copy-pasted, along with the facilities and space ship interiors. And the villain was pretty weak. But those are minor gripes.

Also, I was expecting a post-game to be able and finish some of the optional assignments, so I couldnt finish the Citadel quests after a certain point.

Still, had lots of fun. Awesome story with interesting lore. Played full renegade. Is there anything I should know for the next two games? Do I start from scratch in 2 or am I still a renegade with maxed out weapons?

i finished it too. i was going to do the side quests, but after a while it became apparent that 90% of the side quests were

"Hey can you go across the room/city/another planet to talk to someone?"
"Sure."
"Thanks for doing that."
"Can i have more money."
"Sure."

Genuinely surprised you don't think much of Saren. He's usually one of the main highlights of the game.

Honestly, I was grasping at straws to find faults. He was fine for what the story was.

He got less interesting for me when he decided to be Sovereigns bitch. But now that I think about it, its unique that he wasnt a generic I want ultimate power type of villain. He was doing what he thought was right.

Yeah, it's a great game, my favorite in the series.

Enjoy the rest. The game imports just your story decisions to the next game, you can play any class you want.

Your 25 percent renegade iirc. Also the first game sucks outside of the story. Goddamn I hate the inventory and side quests of the first game. 2nd and 3rd are miles better in damn near every aspect, the combats actually fun, you actually get different fucking weapons instead of a new paint job, etc.

I'm sure the collection will make it easy to carry over your save.

The combat is completely overhauled and you technically start from scratch but you get some bonuses with an import save. I think you start at level 5 instead of 1 or something.

Don't do Vanguard until 3, that's when you'll get the most out of the class, especially with Biotic combos being introduced in the game.

But yeah, if you think Saren was weak....whew boy, wait until Harbinger, dude's potential is absolutely wasted.

Oh, don't do vanguard on insanity.

I strongly disagree with not doing vanguard in general until 3 though, it's still hella fun in 2, but insanity just makes it incredibly risky/dangerous. Engineer or Sentinel are two possible good ones, infiltrator as well as get a nice cloak to use.

Yeah Biotics are weaker in ME2 Insanity due to enemy armor and shields. Only stuff like Warp and Reave are really handy.

I think Soldier in ME2 is pretty underrated. You've got ammo types for every type of enemy and Adrenaline Rush is a fun slow-mo ability that boosts damage. Bring someone like Miranda and your bullets do some pretty great damage.

But really anyone other than Adept and Vanguard is pretty good in Insanity.

Yeah, not saying Vanguard is bad in 2. But on Insanity it sucks because the combat on Insanity in 2 relies on you being in cover a lot. ME3 adds a lot more mobility on top of some refined and new combat aspects, so Vanguard is a blast and Insanity is a lot more manageable.

Playing Adept on Insanity in ME2 rn. The warp spam is real in the early game.
