Its a product of its time, but when used in more modern titles it usually means the enemy designs are going to be fantastic

Great for games where the MC isn't the one actually fighting like SMT where you can still see your party fight.

I like it when the exploration is also first person, like in old dungeon crawlers, but it always leaves me wanting to see the character models in third person games.

The combat holds up in a charmingly simplistic kind of way, but more often than not, there are other dated issues outside of battles that can hinder those kinds of games.

Its not too bad, particularly if the attack animations and enemies look nice, but I think I probably prefer a wider view.
