I kinda miss living on the east coast when I was little. I have spent most of my life on the west coast. 4 years of my childhood I was in PA. There is a lot of cool cities on the east coast. With lots of history. Sometimes I wish I was still back east. I kinda woukd like to live in nyc

Currently living on the west coast, a couple miles inland. I don't plan on leaving the west coast but I'll probably move closer to the coast in a few years. Nothing about the east coast really appeals to me.

I guess I'll add that the NE in particular, the culture as a whole just feels like everything is rushed. It's in the way people carry themselves and speak, even. I hate to be that guy but the vibes I pick up are mainly rude and unhappy, or stoic at best.

I lived on the coast in Myrtle Beach for a time and never really got used to the southern accents or being pointed out as a "Yankee" as I failed to adopt it . There was also an incredibly prominent racial tension that kind of became apparent to me after living there that was not great.

I could see parts of Florida on the east coast being potentially alright, but I'd sooner live in New Orleans or something. I guess nowhere is going to be perfect, though.

Does west coast of florida still count? Cause i wouldn't mind moving back to tampa.

if not, still east coast. Cali is too expensive and oregon/washington are too far north imo.

From my research northern California has areas that are pretty affordable.

in a pandemic scenario. the west coast.
overall: the west coast.

despite the high cost of living, it's the same in new york as in oregon (new york obviously 2-3x higher rents for less space).

East coast = outwardly indifferent, but overly helpful when help is needed.

West coast = outwardly friendly, but narcissistic and indifferent when help is needed.

I've lived in Washington and Oregon my whole life and have loved it. But I'll totally admit the east coast is fantastic. Just about everywhere has really great spots.

Jersey native, and god, when I lived in Puerto Rico, I really missed that stoicness. Like, sure, if a conversation is there to be struck, I'll strike it, but we don't bother with greeting strangers. In PR everyone wants to know your goddamn life story.

I had a neighbor, Bill. Bill was old, had blue eyes, and liked to trim his lawn. Sometimes, maybe once a month, we talked about the weather. Bill was the best neighbor I ever had.

For a good while, NJ was the first and -only- state to actually meet pandemic guideline standards. I think it's because of our population density, and relatively recent turn to a blue state.

East coast is nice because you can easily drive to other states. And everything is close
together

I live in California and just to get to Nevada takes 6-8 hours, San Fran and Los Angeles are 2.5 hours to 4 hours respectively.

at this point in my life Im okay with California west coast but I dont wanna retire here
