Current Events > I have Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2 on ps3. Any good?

Been fishing out games I'd never played during that gen and surprised to discover these in my collection.

Do those games have an easy mode? I'm terrible at action games and tend to just press a bunch of buttons at once.

yes there is an easy mode called ninja dog

the sigma games have its pros and cons

1 had certain annoying platforming parts removed and added some abilities

2 toned down the annoying projectile spam and cut a shitty boss or 2

1 had blood i think, 2 removed blood effects and replaced it with purple mist

Removing blood is very ocarina of time of them, weird.

This game is still way harder than Devil May Cry though, even on the supposed easier mode.

I tried replaying Ninja Gaiden Black around the beginning of the year, those exploding shuriken ninjas were the most infuriating enemies I've ever had to fight in a game. I need to pick it back up and finish but at this point might as well wait for the remasters (even though they're the Sigma versions).

Apparently Sigma 1 isn't too different but Sigma 2 changes a bunch of stuff

Only game that ever made me want to throw a controller.

abuse safe moves, izuna drop works well

you can instant charge ultimates if you hold triangle as you land from a jump while there is enough essense on screen

general strat for each enemy wave you encounter:

• ID the enemy that is easiest to izuna drop
• kill them and hold block so you don't absorb the essence
• while holding block, you can reposition yourself by rolling and jumping
• hold triangle as you land from a jump and unleash an ultimate technique on the next enemy
• most enemies will die from 1 ultimate. so hold block and repeat the ultimate on landing trick over and over

the early parts are hard only because you don't have access to a lot stuff you can abuse.

Thanks man will take a lot of practice to get these down. I now remember why I even have these games in the first place, I played Ninja Gaiden DS way back when and loved it, but it was apparently meant to be easy so nothing like the actual games.
