"Even with vaccination" clearly comes across as "even for vaccinated people" rather than "until more people are vaccinated."

It's not exactly complicated. "Even with vaccination" obviously has a different implication than "while vaccination rates still aren't high enough."

so a difference of 77,000 infections or roughly 15% more

sounds like either way were not going to overwhelm our hospital system with those kind of numbers

meanwhile the large majority of the very vulnerable (seniors) have been vaccinated for months

Did you read the study

the models are based on already outdated vaccination percentages and much lower than real life efficacy results

this data is possibly valid for other countries at this point but we are at over 60% of the adult population with at least one dose at this point in the US (which gives 80-90% protection)

what this study also doesnt seem to account for is new infections when vaccinated are significantly less severe

the rest of us are looking forward to a turnt ass summer tbh

Im vaccinated

everyone i know who wants to be vaccinated is vaccinated

my city is at 72% of adults vaccinated with 96% of seniors. The 7-day rolling average of covid deaths in my county has been 0 for most of the past two months

theres no reason for blanket mandates anymore. We were good in my city, we followed restrictions, and now most that want to be vaccinated are vaccinated. Things will be back to normal in short order.

sure, some populations might need to continue following restrictions, or if theyre shit head republican/anti-vaxxers, theyll see outbreaks

Im not giving up another summer because of those people and I dont feel bad about it
