The network team at my job is split up into different sections.

• Edge (Stores, warehouses, administrative offices)
• Wireless
• Data center
• Network security

I'm on the edge team right now and that's where I've been since I started at this company last year. They're going to be expanding all of the teams now. As a part of that, people have the opportunity to move to other teams.

I definitely feel like I'm mostly comfortable on the edge team, but the data center team would be a pretty good way to improve my skillset in a hurry and probably move up to a higher pay grade faster.

I'm super nervous about this, but I think I'm gonna do it.

I think you'll do fine. You seem to really know your stuff. I however would definitely sink. I don't even have my A+ certification yet lol. My boss said he'd give me a raise if I get my A+ and Network+ certifications.

Growth happens outside of the comfort zone. Like #2 said, you got this.

Data center seems to be where all the action is for a network administrator, I'd definitely do it if you have the chance. Should round out your skillset enough to take any job.
