I've not played a ton of them, but farming animals is always more involved than just planting a farm and harvesting it every now and then.

Yeah, but then you have to breed cows and then kill them and it's easier to just have a massive wheat field.

You just have a big pen and spam wheat at them until the pen is full then slaughter two thirds of em.

Its less of a hassle than planting, which you still have to do admittedly, but you have to eat and plant less often.

Ive always found beef superior and wheat more an early game strat.

I played Don't Starve Together with some friends and picked her.

They were immediately like, "Oh, god no."

I just thought it made sense to have one of us play the super combat focused character who could make better weapons, but apparently meat is hard to get early game.

Ark is like that. I mean yeah you could grow stuff to eat... But usually you grow it to make animal chow. Then you use the animal poop to continue making fertilizer. Etc.

Meat on the other hand, that's super easy to come by when you get a good system in place.
