Gameplay-wise it has to be either Sheena or Genis. Sheena is a melee fighter with bad stats for it an mediocre combos.

Genis does big hits, but takes forever to do them so his damage is actually pretty poor. It becomes even worse when he is on the same team with Raine because of the stupid spell queue. So sometimes you are really waiting before he launches a spell or even worse your very needed heal is behind a long spell like Explosion and someone ends up dying.

I'm gonna go with Genis.

Collette gets Paraball which is literally better than anything Sheena or Genis get.

Voted Sheena though. She was okay, I just liked the others more in combat.

Kratos/Zelos. Not necessarily bad, but they're both jacks of all trades.

That one trick is infinitely more useful than summons that you have barely any control over.

Sheena is just flat out not good at her job. The crowd control that she has is not good for the Symphonia combat, and the status effects she can inflict are not very relevant. The Symphonia over limit design is also not reliable, so her other gimmick in summons is not of significant value. As an aside, she can't even finish the Origin incantation before her over limit runs out.

Her elemental buffs are probably the best part of her kit.

And yeah, Colette being a one trick pony with Para-ball isn't a downside because the trick is seriously that good.

Raine. This game is DPS heavy and Raine has little to no DPS. Kratos and Zealos heals is all you need.

Sheena is straight garbage. Imagine being a summoner ninja, but your moveset is a buncha card slaps and fireworks. Regel only uses his legs and he cooler and fun to play as.

Also needing like 100 TP + Over limit to launch a basic bitch ass spell

Disappointing character

Only her and Lloyd lack an infinite, and Lloyd has a reset iirc.

sheena is the second weakest party member in the original but its genis who takes the spot as worst party member
you kind of need a healer so raine should be your party main stay and the game has a spell que so with 2 spellcasters they both slow down a ton so its just not viable to use him

plus in the ps3/steam version they let you customize sheena a bit more and there is an actual pretty decent summoner build for her you couldnt pull off in the original gamecube raising her usefulness

Sheena. Hell, the best summoner is Raine in the GC version because of a glitch where you can use her to do them instead.

Honorable mention to Genis, you literally can't do his full melee combo because it's busted in the coding.

Can't be Colette, para ball is op and the one boss fight where it's not effective, you still wanna spam it because of the potency.

It makes him better, but his fundamental issue is the spell queue and you can't get away from that without removing other casters from your party.
