A lot of you on here have obviously never been poor or even lower middle class. My family spent thousands on repairing """"affordable """" used cars over the years. And we were still constantly afraid of getting stranded on the side of the highway. That happened to me on the way to take my SATs. We couldn't travel between cities without renting a car because we absolutely couldn't trust our cars not to break down.

"Just buy an affordable car and barely drive it" is such an insultingly ignorant statement that it should disqualify you from talking about politics. Like poor people don't need to drive to work or do activities.

Furthermore, the suburb we lived in had literally no public transportation. And this was in a popular suburb of Houston.

Another thing is how conservatives who don't live anywhere near poor people always seem to have stories about how they've seen people with luxury clothes/cars/iPhones using food stamps. These stories seem to be pretty interchangeable and could be straight out of a Reagan speech. It's almost like they're lying their asses off, misinterpreting what they're seeing, or seeking to cut off help to millions of people based on one person they saw at Walmart.

Even if he's telling the truth, we don't need to be jealous of poor people and punish them just because he saw some drug dealers and thieves.

The average poor person is not defrauding the government. They aren't buying everything they'd ever want and getting endless free money from the government store.

No place in this country should be without public transportation and especially sidewalks, unless were talking like out in the country farm type stuff but that doesnt really count.

Cheap ass cars are more expensive than pricey cars, because the former keeps breaking down. Because it's made of cheap parts.
