Talking to tech support. Ordering a meal. Shopping. Anything that requires some degree of human interaction. Is it racist to get frustrated?


*this assumes that you are speaking the predominant primary language of your represented country and the person with whom you are interacting does not. so like if you fly to china and are getting frustrated that nobody is speaking good enough english. this question does not apply to circumstances like that.

Someone who doesn't speak the language at all? Not at all.

But those douchebags that pretend they can't understand what someone says if they say "toma-toh" or "wa-tah" instead of "tom-a-toe" or "wat-er" sure are, ditto if they throw a fit over someone having an accent

No, as long as it's genuine frustration at that, and not using it as a cover-up for being frustrated at something else.
