If you have no mechanical experience Id recommend bringing it somewhere for a tranny oil and filter change

Depends on the age of the car, make and model. Some older cars made it really easy. Newer ones, not so much

Automatic? There might be a drain plug somewhere, although some have an oil pain you need to remove to access the filter.

Depends on the car. If you take it in, ask for a fluid change NOT a flush, if its beyond the regular maintenance.

Sometimes the grit in the system helps more than it hurts and a flush gets it all out. A change just swaps fluid, which will always help

If you take it to any decent place when it is flushed a bit of the old oil will be mixed with the new
