That's not how it works. They would get sick and die. Case closed, Darwin wins. You have to survive a viral attack to cause a mutation. If the vaccine works, you shouldn't care because you should be theoretically safe. Mutations are only an issue if it doesn't actually work because cases in the wild should taper off. It took the Spanish Flu about three years. Nature autocorrects.

Vaccination for endangered populations is actually a good idea. Forcing your beliefs on others for political views is just that. In industrial nations, things are getting better without the need to bother people or infringe. Common sense goes a long way. Wear a mask and wash your hands. There's no silver bullet. If you have health issues, please get vaccinated. If you have had it already or you are otherwise healthy, avoid close contact with others and there is zero risk of problems.

That's kinda how I feel about it. The extra could be used in countries like in South America but they don't have a lot of money and we aren't ready to address real issues like income inequity yet. Now, while it mutating is a theory for high income nations, it's actually a FACT in other nations who are having adequate supplies withheld or straight up stolen from them to supplant rich nations.

But we aren't going to have that conversation, are we?

Except covid is highly contagious for a few days before symptoms show up, so there isn't a lot of evolutionary pressure for it to become less deadly the way there would be if the symptoms were necessary to spread it.

The vaccine works against current variants. Corona viruses are notoriously versatile and capable of mutating enough to render previous immunity irrelevant. This is literally why the common cold is common.
