Gaming is a complete package as it has visuals, audio, storytelling and interactivity. While the others only have one or the other.

For me its become boardgaming. Socializing, storytelling, competition, laughs, tense moments, being lost in that world on the table.

And the great thing is, they'll never be obselete. Fifty years from now, you can still pull them out and play them like you did fifty years prior and you won't need an internet connection or electricity, etc.

They're timeless, like books.

As far as entertainment mediums go, yeah pretty much. The thing is, gaming is active and demanding, so it's the most engaging medium of those. It's also the most immersive because you're invested in what happens to the main character, since it's you.

I don't think music deserves to be in this, by itself it can be the weakest, but at the same time, it's the best by virtue of enhancing everything else.

I can think of a ton of movies and games that wouldn't nearly be as good if the music was terrible.

It depends. I've gotten more enjoyment out of music than anything else in my life, but I love games and I love movies. I value books even more because it usually gives something more real and palpable (lol books) over a greater span of time. Books usually impart a more sincere wisdom, it takes more devotion....

And by music I generally mean making it as well as listening.

That's a good point that I didn't consider, actually. Reminds me of that saying "behind every great man is a great woman"
I guess depending on how you think about the question, music might have to placed pretty high in the ranking

Of those options, yes, because you're actively engaged in it. That other stuff is just people absorbing content.

I would rank sports or some sort of fitness activity the highest though.
