As a kid, I just said Nintendo. Never heard of the NES. Uncle still had 1 or 2 karts for it, but no idea what happened to the actual system. Oddly enough, though, we still had a working Atari.

its strange, because i used to call the genesis "Sega", but now i call it the "Sega Genesis". However with SNES I never changed the way I said it. I still say Super Nintendo like I always have.

in my tiny sphere growing up you would generally say "hey want to play some nintendo?" and if you were at a friends and looking for the system itself you might say "where's your NES?"

when the SNES came out it was chaos on the playground. Nothing really won out. Some would say Super Nintendo, others were S-N-E-S, others were SNES, still others Super NES, and some perverts S-NES.

I lived in multiple cities across the US throughout the 90s. Literally everyone literally everywhere called it "sness." You living under a rock until 2010 is irrelevant to what the rest of the country and world did. You're still quoting wrong, btw.
