I think it is just more the fact that A LOT of people in general are pedos, but celebrities always have a spotlight on them so it is easier to get caught, and when they do they go down HARD

At one point in my life I would have dismissed this as lunacy but then I started watching To Catch a Predator videos on YouTube and holy fucking shit man theyd set up a sting house and within 48 hours have like 100 dudes show up.

It is incredibly difficult to get people to admit even anonymously that they have paedophile inclinations so the estimates of paedophiles in the world is likely extremely underestimated.

The reality is much more disturbing.

but they're famous, the backlash from admitting this to any professional is way riskier than the average person

When you hear the number of cases of children being violated by teachers, family members, religious figures or neighbors, the celebrity argument doesn't really make sense. I'd imagine that having a high status and large amount of money gives them the idea that they could get away with it.

I mean, this is kind of where the distinction between pedophiles are necessary since these people aren't pedophiles, they're statutory rapists. And being attracted to post-pubescent minors isn't unnatural (humans have done this for millennia before modern day morals happened), it's just evil. And of course as we all know, when people get rich and famous, they often shed their morality.

Do you have evidence their rate is above the general population?

Are there a lot more compared to the general population? Seems like something that's next to impossible to have a real grasp on. Either way I get the sense that it's more about ease of exerting power over others than anything else

Perhaps it is part of normal human nature. There are a few fucked up things I feel are human nature but as a society have tried to change. Rape and a tendency for violence for example

This and even moreso you just remember them better because they are famous. There's always stories about some random pedo but they are forgotten quickly vs. a celebrity being accused.
