Favorite semifinalist of the decade so far?

https://challonge.com/b8bnc2008 https://board8.fandom.com/wiki/Best_New_Character With a score of 28-14 the winner is Walter White (Breaking Bad) Walter comes out on top above Tony Stark, making Erik Killmonger (Black Panther) the only MCU character to ever win the Best New Character contest, go figure. Walt, on the other hand, is (perhaps unsurprisingly) the third Breaking Bad character to win, after Mike Ehrmantraut in 2010 and Saul Goodman in 2009. He's only the 2nd anti-hero to win (also after Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill). Among the top cometitors were Hank Schrader and Jesse Pinkman (also from Breaking Bad), WALL-E (who, had he won, would've been the 3rd Disney character to do so), Joker (who might've been the 2nd supervillain winner), Eli (who made it farther than any previous horror character) and Dr. Horrible (the only YouTube character to make it this far). This was such a fun year, really enjoyed this contest! Excellent finale, Walt and Tony are easily the best representations of the next decade of pop culture after them.

Walt was a great winner, and among my favorites in the contest. He had a very easy path to victory though, as I voted for him all 6 matches. Meanwhile, Tony Stark, who I also like a lot, I somehow only ended up voting him 1 out of his 6 matches, just due to how loaded his path to the finals was.

I think people have cooled on Heath Ledger Joker over the years. It's still a great role but not the best thing ever. Breaking Bad respect has never gone down.

If we ran this contest in 08/09 Joker likely would have won, but you can't really expect people to vote as if it was 10+ years ago.

I kinda agree with this line of thinking but I love him enough that I would've voted him over the whole bracket aside from POSSIBLY Walter White in spite of this handicap because he's the best He's the perfect interpretation and execution to a character I already like a lot (and one who has had his share of very bad portrayals at that to serve as a contrast-- looking at you Nicholson and Leto) --- No problem!
