In the original game, it was
Weapon - Y
Item - X
Change Weapon - B
Change Item - A

But now it's
Weapon -A
Item - Y
Change Weapon - B (at least this is normal)
Change Item - X

Was it really that hard to keep the controls the same? Especially since the game has scans of the original manual that describes the controls...

I agree. It's cumbersome to have to change the Switch button mapping every time you play specific games instead of, you know, having it be an option for specific games instead like it should be.
