Well England's had an easy ride so far - Denmark, Ukraine, even Scotland who they didn't beat... Italy's a different level.
Maybe with another couple of sneaky penalties they might get lucky.

I'm not confident that Kane and Sterling can continue carrying us against a whole team of peak Italians.

Game could go either way. I think England is getting pretty underrated honestly. Outside of their borefest Scotland game theyve looked pretty dominant in nearly every single one of their games, even against Germany who are obvi no slouch.

Italy is definitely a wagon though so itll be a great matchup. I expect itll be close either way with either a 1 goal game or making it all the way to PKs.

damn.. just rewatched the moment when england was awarded a penalty and it was thin af.

first of all there was a 2nd ball on the field which means the play should have been temporarily stopped and gotten rid of it.

secondly he was barely touched when awarded the penalty. ugh pretty sad end to a decent semi

Actually, that is one of the reasons I wish he got a Cup.

Still can't believe we're in the final.

It just breaks the established narrative so much.

There's a way these things are supposed to go every single time: we slag off the team and the tactics before the tourney, then we get over excited; we tell everyone it's coming home at every opportunity; Three Lions and Vindaloo re-enter the charts; John Barnes gets awoken from his eternal slumber to do the chat show circuit and do The Rap (bonus points for using the phrase "I'll have to see if I remember it..."); we work out who we'll definitely have in the final by the end of the group stages; "It's coming home" intensifies...

But it's not supposed to actually happen - we spend all tournament talking about winning it but really we're fully expecting to go out, with our actual aspirations being going out on penalties so we can say that at least we didn't get beaten "properly", before we take down all the flags and

We're not supposed to actually reach the final. It's just not how this works. I've been "It's coming home"-ing all tournament in these topics, but for real now I have to cancel other plans I'd made for Sunday.

Oh yeah, many people from Italian descent where I live. That's basically what most people in Belgium know my city for.
They went crazy when Italy won against Belgium. I don't wanna know what'll happen if they actually win it.

A bit north of Lige, indeed :) that's the part of Belgium where they speak French, I live like 30 miles north in Genk where they speak Dutch. It's all very logical with the languages and borders etc.
For example, on the east side of Belgium there's a city that belongs to Flanders, where Dutch is the language, but it's located in Wallony, where French is the language. Similarly, on the west side of Belgium there's a city that belongs to Wallony (French), but it's located in Flanders (Dutch).
Also, there's a part in the east where people speak German but no one really cares about it. It is, of course, located in Wallony (French).
It all makes sense, right?

But yeah, there are many people in Belgium from Italian, Turkish and Moroccan descent, especially around the area where I live. Polish, Ukrainian and Greek as well.

From the Roman Empire to siding with the Nazis. Italy's history is bloody and cruel.
