1st ep down. Kind of standard so far, but I'm liking it. Thought the intro and ending scenes were pretty creepy and well-directed. And I quite like the music in the show too, I find it bears a slight Code Veronica motif to it.

Just watched it. It was okay, but I had a problem with Leon being so inconsistent and then Jason having to act inconsistent as well in order to justify what Leon does. He literally kills Shen May for no other reason than if he didn't then Leon would look like the bad guy. Also, what was the point of Claire in this story?

I just finished it myself. I think overall I err on the dislike side of things. The series was way too rushed to be enjoyable. There's no sense of pacing or presence, characters, especially Leon, consistently rush into decisions where it would be smarter to hold back a little, the scene right after the sub attack a perfect example. And characters are just constantly showing up to where they're supposed to be with little to no transition. I concur that Claire was extremely underutilized in this series sadly, a rather generic damsel. The series critically lacked any sort of horror or tension besides the enjoyable war flashback scenes. That being said both Stephanie Panisello & Nick Apostolides provided excellent voice work as Claire & Leon respectively here, they have both really grown into the roles and act according to their age and experience.

I think there is potential here for a great RE animated series, and the show seems to be doing well viewership wise. I hope a 2nd season could give it some leg room and to patch up critical areas in the storytelling department.

Castlevania had the same runtime for its first season and that turned out great. This, however, probably would have been better if they scaled things down into a single movie rather than what we got. They were clearly angling for a second season to the detriment of the project.

Why do I have to keep watching the same scene repeatedly with a little more added at the end. Just show me the scenes. I feel like their trying to be smart and suspenseful but it's just annoying.
