Do you recall how many great games were made in that 10 years span?

I will even include 2010 release of Red Dead Redemption.

But after that things got really slow. Why is that? People always say that it takes longer to develop games nowadays. But I think that's just garbage.

They decided to not just make the same game again and again with a different story. Now they actually upgrade literally every aspect of it on a technical level.

Edit: well, I guess the shooting is still basic, but it works for the worlds.

Games take a lot longer and cost a lot more to make now.

Plus they can just milk GTA online so why bother developing multiple games?

I can wait if the game turns out super super great like RDR2. Not like that's ever going to happen again. With GTA online's success, Take Two's overall greed, and a few of the key people leaving Rockstar, I don't know if it's going to ever be the same.

I'm replaying GTA 3 and loving it again at least.

It's like they gave us the best sex we ever had and then walked off into the sunset to never be seen again. Why even up my standard just to leave me without after :(.

First is overated and second is underated. Or maybe the second was just underappreciated. They tightened up everything and actually made it fun to play.

Time flies and things change, your favorite thing will not always be the best thing, even to yourself. Kojima was considered the best single writer and designer in all of gaming during the 2000s and Square Enix was known for their high quality productions and insane CGI, now Kojima is often called a hack and Square a shell of their former selves.

I loved Halo in the 2000s, Bungie was quickly dominating the market, I played Halo 2 like it was a career prospect through 2005-2007. I never play Halo anymore and Bungie is now *quickly searches on Google* running a free-to-play FPS MMO game called Destiny. I don't know if it's doing good or bad, but at least Bungie is still kicking.
