Its not real. Holding people accountable isnt a bad thing. Itll prevent things in the future. Yea, it was a long time ago and theyve changed. Sure, but you should still set an example so the trend doesnt keep on going. I do agree that the ones who seem to foam at the mouth while doing that take it too far sometimes.

There is definitely a group of people who think its perfectly fine to bully people over trivial nonsense from a decade ago.

Its definitely a minority though, the real "cancel culture" is just a conservative talking point for "let me be as racist as I want and you aren't allowed to disagree"

Cancel culture is a byproduct of the capitalist system that republicans glorify so much.

if being non-PC wasnt damaging to profits, these people wouldnt be facing any consequences from those with purchasing power. In fact, if being racist/sexist/transphobic/etc was a money-maker, theyd be promoted for it

Disney has always heeded the word of disgruntled parents. Controversy makes it difficult for people to find work in the public field. LGB rights have been a thing since forever. Racism causes riots. Nobody reinvented the wheel here.

It exists in the sense that there is a mob of easily offended people out there, but what I'm saying is they don't have the power to really do anything as long as you stand your ground.

Yes you can. Cancel culture as the right puts it doesnt exist. I think some people go too far with holding others accountable. Thats not cancel culture tho. Its not a culture. Its simply people being held accountable for the shitty things they did that they thought went unnoticed.
