Buddy wants to dump his gf solely because she believes in witchcraft. Fair?


A buddy of mine absolutely loves this girl. they have been dating for 1 year now and he has no problems with her...except that he found out that she actively participates in 'witchcraft'

She casts spells over all their spices for reasons, and does other magicy stuff like tarot cards, crystals etc.

Is this a good reason to break up with a girl. Outside of this, they are very happy together

My girlfriend is like that. She believes that she can talk to spirits and does witchcraft. Its whatever since most of it is harmless anyways. Now, if your buddys gf starts painting her face with her own blood and tries to do blood magic, then I would say he needs to get out before hes in too deep. I speak from personal experience.

i think for him (and it would for me too) is that it bothersome that she can believe in things without evidence. I agree with this wholeheartedly, but I'm an atheist myself

I'm worried that when he asks for advice I am just a backboard because we are both atheists. This shit would bother me a lot, even though it doesn't really harm anyone. I think, for him, it makes him disrespect her intelligence which is a problem and probably grounds for breaking up. I do wonder if this is irrational to be that judgmental, however. It is difficult because we have similar beliefs, but I also do genuinely find it concerning that someone could believe that tarot cards etc. can affect how the day goes.
