Well?

I've been to an anime con once down here in SoCal. Was pretty nice. I met Laura Bailey and shook her hand(I only knew her for Shin-Chan at the time) and had forgotten a pen so couldn't get any signature. She was super nice even though I rushed over to see her when she probably wasn't expecting to see fans(I was there with a family friend and his nephew, who asked me to get the signature...without a pen smh).

The only restaurant for miles was California Pizza Kitchen and it was so packed we had to wait 2 hours to get in.

They were selling everything from life-sized buster swords to manga and anime DVDs.

Oh, and there was an 'adults only' booth with a bunch of adult actresses for some reason. I had to stay 20 feet back lol.

Was the one time I went and it was a lot of fun, honestly.

I might try to push for an Anime North trip with my online friends. One goes all the time and the other said he might want to visit Toronto, so it might happen

Never been to one

There used to be one at the casino I work at and it was fun. I hear they turned into a brony thing and then got permanently canned after a year.

My first convention was Bronycon Summer 2012, just after my 17th birthday. I hung out with a CE user. It was a 2 day convention but I only went for 1 day. I had a blast and couldn't believe my family didn't know what conventions were. I was able to go necause it was close to me. I got stuck in line for hours trying to meet a voice actress, but when we finally got to the front she wasn't there anymore, so we had special permission for her to come down just for us. I showed up in the background of another voice actor interview which was nice. That night was a concert/rave at the location and I saw it for a little bit. Little did I know, someone threw a glowstick into the ceiling lights during the rave and it started a fire the next day when I wasn't there. I followed it online and it was crazy.

After that I've been to a bunch of other MLP and anime conventions in my area. The most recent one was Bronycon 2019 in Baltimore, I traveled with a friend from where we are to down there by Greyhound bus. That convention was one of the greatest things to happen to me in 2019, it got me out of some very bad depression. I did everything I wanted to, met all of the online friends I wanted to, and it was so successful. It was also the largest convention I've been to with 10,000 attendees.

Are you talking about the Riviera in Vegas? The convention I'm thinking of is Las Pegasus Unicon in 2013.

My lady convinced me to go to Otakon one year. I only agreed to go because the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds tour was right down the street on the same day. The convention was miserable, but the concert was pretty good.

No, my brother and me had a trip planned to go to one once. We had to call it off, because the idea of the two of us doing something our parents didn't approve was too much for them. They went full tilt for months until we caved and called the whole thing off the day before.

work related ones. nothing hobby oriented. most of them I just do the bare minimum and then fuck off to something else while I'm in the city.

Many work related (government) conventions. Usually good food in an interesting city too.

3 or 4 San Diego ComiCons - before the millennials, hipsters, yuppies, cosplayers and zoomers started coming. Really, really cool. Just writers, artists and fans. Avoid the spectacle called ComiCon nowadays.

My lady and I have also been to Adult Con. Biggest porn convention in the world. L.A. and Las Vegas only. We stay local in L.A. Fun, interesting and classy. Not sleazy or seedy at all.

For reasons that escape me, everything is cash only though.

That sounds very interesting. Details requested.

I went to a chowder convention in New England once. Much more fun than I expected, but still, New England.

Chowder.

Went to ACEN a couple times. Wasn't bad. I remember sitting in a very long Gundam panel for some reason, when I have really only seen G. Bought some random manga. Took some pics of the cosplay. The usual con-goer shit.

It was really, really cold. Waited in a long line outside to get a free small fries sample. I tried a few wing flavors and one was actually so good that I felt that it provided some validation for putting up with the weather.

I loaded up on free snack bags, l0l

hell naw, fuck over paying to be around thousands of people making my hobby or passion look like muddied water. I'd like whatever I was interested in a lot less if I saw a ton of "fans" loving the same thing. Guess that makes me a hipster.

Went to Sakura-con 3 years in a row.

had a good time, ended up with some posters and a few series I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

got black-out drunk with a bunch of weebs who i didn't know that came from the same place i did.

only happened because i got ID'd and they saw my BC license and were like "he's with us" and they kept buying me drinks.

SDCC once, and some smaller ones multiple times. SDCC was fun to experience, but I'm not sure I'd ever do it again. So many hours-long lines, and no personal space whatsoever. Got into a couple of cool panels though.
