I once saw all the movies when I was a little little kid, but by now I only remember footage from The Phantom Menace and The Force Awakens. The rest of the movies I know the story from the LEGO games.

I'm actually curious to see what a non-fan would think of the film.

I'm in the "it's a pretty good movie" camp.
I'm also one of the nerds that hates the lore of the sequel trilogy. But divorced from the general SW canon, I like 8 a lot but more on a "meta" narrative level if that makes sense. I would recommend watching 7 beforehand because in some ways I feel 8 is a rejection of what 7 stood for, but I think 7 is a pretty mediocre movie. --- <insert sig here> ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'm not a star wars fan and I really didn't like the movie.
It's just fucking boring to watch. Finn and Poe are completely wasted/ruined and it's just a generally miserable experience. --- The Legend is True! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Nah, it's super boring. The only good parts are things fans would appreciate, so it would probably be even more boring for you.
