There has to be a way to do it. Your standard 52-deck cards. It would be a Card Builder as well, where you add or subtract cards from your "deck". Maybe 2 decks would be better? Jokers? Ace high or low? I'm sure I can figure it out, I've created a few games now on my own that my family still play when we get together. Just thought I would hear some of your thoughts to help me narrow things down

What do you have so far?

Would you rather not have to carry around a rulebook? Having a big rulebook makes it super easy to do.

A game of War but you choose which card to play from a hand of like five. You hafta choose which card to play before seeing the opponent/the deck's card. Choose high cards to win cards, but be sure to hang onto a high card in case of a tiebreaker. Also you start with a small minority of the cards. Idk.

I'm sorry, but 10,000 of ANYTHING on a PS2 would absolutely destroy your framerate. It'd be like playing chess through the mail. ~johnboy1

A lot of playing cards and an active imagination

Like, last year I made a really fun game using the card games Dungeon Mayhem and Magic: The Gathering to make a Deck Builder out of. But a lot of people don't have those, but they do have playing cards, so I wanted to make up a fun deck builder using only playing cards.

Think of it like a math solitaire where you have to "beat" the card[s] or something. Also, remember this to help start the idea flow - If the Aces = 1, then it works perfectly with "10"

1+9 = 10 [4 in the deck]
2+8 = 10
.
.
10 = 10

The only odd ones out are the Face Cards, and those could be the Monsters you fight

Yeah, this is a good starting place. Thanks.

Like I said, I'm just trying to hear some thoughts to sleep on

Pokeymans-style type advantages. Hearts > Clubs > Diamonds > Spades > Hearts or whatever. Use a super effective suit against your opponent's card and your card is worth an extra point.
