Man, I miss the NCAA Football games so bad. I loved taking some joke ass college and making them a powerhouse.

I wonder if there's any hope of them coming back now that students can have endorsements or whatever.

What EA should be doing is keeping the current gen and previous gen on the same SKU (with current gen getting load time and resolution boosts)

While giving the current gen team time to make a real good game that actually leverages the tech in PCs/PS5/Series X. Especially since most people dont own a current gen system.

Instead they split the console bases between each gen and the game on the PS5/Series X is basically the same as the PS4/Xbox One.

I used to buy Madden every year but now I only buy it if theres a cover athlete that I am a fan of.

They know their products will shift, so why - from a purely corporate standpoint - would they want to increase their expenditure (to actually improve a game significantly, not just a few tweaks and updated rosters) whilst simultaneously reducing their potential income?

Edit: Not disagreeing with the sentiment btw, but a business just doesn't operate like that in reality - it's always profits first.

If we are talking Business and profit yea youre right. Im mainly talking as a person who used to play sports games and never does now.

Like I said in my edit, I agree with the sentiment. The main issue is that a vast proportion of EA Sports sales are to casual gamers who just want to play with their teams current players/kit/etc.

Even if EA did take the 'gamers' route, as it were, they'd end up with a ton of angry social media messages from 9 year olds unhappy that they can't play with their favourite teams current line-up on their new console they got for Christmas :(

Personally I'd love them to completely abolish loot boxes - or whatever fucking phrasing they're currently using to try and worm their way around pushing gambling on kids - but, again, it's not in the businesses interests so that won't ever happen outside of a comprehensive law forcing them to being introduced in more countries than there currently are. It's only like, 2 or 3 I think. I know Belgium's one but can't remember the others.
