One dude was trying to make things more interesting, the other dude was trying to be polite when he was saying he was being annoyed/distracted.

Well that was a part of the issue. Usually they're either friends of the streamer or other speedrunners that can give valuable input. That guy in that clip just kinda intruded and started inserting jokes that the mustache guy didn't want lol. It's honestly kinda deserved but ultra awk

I quit watching when they removed the public twitch chat. It was fun watching their reactions, basically like a crowd at a sporting event. Now it's sub-only and just filled with boring, suck-up commenters

AGDQ peaked during the Trihex YI days, it's been on a pretty rapid decline ever since and is literally unwatchable now

Not dying, already dead. Speedrunning is more popular than ever but GDQ LLC is losing their stranglehold of control thankfully. Quite often GDQ will suddenly schedule a "hotfix" to run right in the middle of another marathon. Sad!

I watched the summer streams and they were great.

Their donation totals have been in steady decline, and that's including that a big portion of their donations nowadays are just huge tax write offs from companies like The Yeti anyway. Donations from regular people actually watching are probably far, far lower than they ever have been

I was considering donating myself a few years ago, since I had watched for a couple years and finally had the resources where I could contribute myself

But reading about how barely any of the money actually goes to the charities, how some of the charities themselves that they choose are very mismanaged or even corrupt, and how they got rid of the public chat for everyone since a couple people said some mean things... I decided against it and just quit watching

It's all good though. Eventually everything becomes corporate and not as good anymore. Same thing happened to Humble Bundle, I think that they recently got rid of the charity slider where you could choose exactly how much of your money went to Humble, the devs, and the charity
