Your best bet is gonna be the Demons Souls remake. Its the same game we all love, with a new coat of paint. Bloodborne is an absolute masterpiece & quickly became one of the only real classics to surface out of last generation. Its one of the best games of all time. If youre gonna play Dark Souls, you really need to do the trilogy in order to get the right experience. You can also try playing it backwards, or just pop in discs until 1 clicks, but without all 3 games, you wont be up to snuff on certain things. Inarguably tho, the best Soulsborne are the original Dark Souls & Bloodborne. but theyre all very different beasts. These games arent like Call of Duty. Gameplay aside, Whats at the bottom of the scenery in Anor Londo? Nothing. A blank texture. Whats in Izalith? The exact same lava-vein texture repeated everywhere. What happens when you exit Valley of the Drakes into Blighttown? The lighting engine punches you in the face. Whats the first thing you see in the game? A very warped character creator implemented egregiously wrongly in-game. Whats the second thing you see? A set of double doors with the texture flipped into unnecessary quadrants. Lol chaos war god king Have you ever wondered how Tomb of the Giants formed? Cuz that aint natural. Have you ever stopped to look around Great Hollow? Its ugly. Undead Burg. Oh my god. Fake houses. Misshapen doors hidden as Easter eggs. Abandoned mechanics. Dont get me started on the rag doll & clipping. Belfry Gargoyle on the Anor Londo elevator. Why not. The bannisters and the bollocks required to get through Anor Londo. The Silver Knight archers. like wow Small Blue Dragons in the Valley of Drakes are literally the technically worst thing Souls has ever tried to do. Lol. Bloodborne was really open and accessible to everyone willing to learn though. Those early days and that early board was awesome. The coop just great. I remember posting "I'm on, Set level, area and pw as "gamefaqs" on Fridays.
