It'd be really hard to rank these because I really like all of them a lot, but AA5's is my favorite, I just love that bass.

PW1 - I used to like this one a lot, but over time I've grown to enjoy it a lot less. I like the Moderato themes that are a bit softer and more ponderous, and this one is very harsh. That's probably more to do with the instrumentation than the melody.

PW2 - This one is the weird step-child of the original trilogy, but I actually have a soft spot for it. It's basically the polar opposite of PW1's.

PW3 - Strikes a perfect balance between PW1 and PW2, so it's pretty easily the best of the original trilogy for me.

AJ - Somewhat sinister undertones in this one that I don't think I really dig all that much, but I don't hate it.

AAI - Fine.

AAI2 - Slightly less fine.

Layton 1 - The instrimentation does far nicer things to this melody than the GBA chip does.

Layton 2 - A fun variation on the above theme that I'm actually pretty into.

DD - Probably the most interesting composition of any of them, dope bass, weird time signature. I like this one a lot.

GAA - This is okay.

SoJ - I almost really love this one, but that electric piano sample or whatever it is that kicks in at 18 seconds isn't great.

PW3 > DD > Layton 2 > SoJ > PW2 > Layton 1 > GAA > AJ > PW1 > AAI > AAI2

gaps through to 01 are more or less nonexistent, and then everything since layton has felt like it's trying to be like 01 too much without the effective execution it has

regarding aai moderatos, 11 is the more memorable of the two but 09 isn't far off and without its main hit or miss elements, which is the only real cause of 11 not also being at the top. most moderatos can edge them out in general, but they just have significantly more crammed into them to make up for that and they're just good enough to benefit.

T&T > AAI1 > SOJ > DD > Layton English > Great > JFA > AJ > Layton Mass > PW1 > AAI2

T&T has such a strong direction in its trial songs. I love its orderly feeling with intensity hiding behind it.

I have an unreasonable amount of love for AAI1 Moderato. The melody just hits the right note for me. I think this is the only Moderato I prefer over Allegro.

PW1 has a good melody but the instrumentation is a little too harsh and aggressive. The Layton remix does well with it.

I actually really like the core melody of AAI2, but Moderato adds these unfortunate aggressive instruments that kinda sink the song for me. I think it's actually the same instruments they use for Marsh's theme, which is absurd. Allegro swaps the Moozilla sounds with a glimmery mirror effect and the song is much better for it.
