So abilities always override moves then?

defense usually overrides offense

if you have an item that protects against a status and it gets attacked by a weapon that always causes that status, the protection wins

If the Ability is ignored, then crits are possible.

I assume you mean Mega Slowbro? That's the one with Shell Armor. If so, yes.

Thats actually fascinating.

So does it bypass the crit roll like swift does for accuracy, or if it rolls crit does the move always miss?

Or as an example, if I attack shell armor with swift and it rolls crit, does it just not apply it, or does it miss completely?
