Their bulldog ancestors were bred to be strong and aggressive by humans so they would be useful for bull/bear-baiting and later those were bred with terriers so that they would be strong, aggressive and agile for dog fighting. It sucks because pitbulls were bred by humans, for human purposes, but now that those purposes are illegal, the aggression and strength weve specifically bred into them have made them inconvenient for modern living (when compared to other breeds) without a lot of TLC. But this one said pits where bred for "ratting" a competition to see who's dog could kill more rats in a short amount of time. But shortly people turned to dog fighting.
