I don't even know why you're explaining that to him. Do you actually think he's going to comprehend any of that

I have worked at the UVA medical center as a nurse for 3 years, and am currently in med school. I have a greater understanding of nutrition and diet than you do.

Trust me, dealing with picky people about food is one of the most irritating processes in existence. People think they are too good to eat certain food.

Explaining patient education about the problems of osteoporosis and veganism is exhausting. There is so much pseudoscience, classism, and misinformation about food.

Yeah, you certainly do. The guy who is incapable of grasping how someone could possibly have a nauseating to fast food and told someone that they were literally lying about it definitely has a stellar understanding of nutrition

You're actually living proof that being in med school doesn't mean shit because there are so many people in the field that literally know nothing despite how competitive the field is. And that's even entertaining the possibility that you're actually in med school. DarkRoast actually demonstrates knowledge when she posts

I only do cause we collect orders at work and send someone to go get the food. They heavily scrutinize what we bring in our self so ordering food allows me to have more variety. We order from sit down resturants too so it boils down sometimes how much money am I willing to spend.

I can grasp that food is nauseating for some people. I just said it was psychological. I mean, I can't eat onions without wanting to vomit but there is nothing actually wrong with onions.

Everything you said is true, but it's not something that would happen from an occasional bite of fast food unless you have digestive abnormalities like IBS which may respond to fatty/salty food.

How would any of that require long-term behavior? A sugar rush, the most common negative effect, definitely happens after a single meal. Effects from overeating will happen after a single meal as well.

And how would eating too much as to cause hyperglycemia be exclusive to fast food?

Idk a lot of people I know that cut pork out of their diet claims if they decide to eat it it upsets their stomach. Think its more our bodies are just used to eating certian things. Ive gone years where I only ate fast food like maybe twice a year but I wasny exactly eating healthy at home either. As one of my yankee co workers said true southern cooking is damn good but damn it is unhealthy.

Your body is definitely used to some foods. Not even just your body, but the species bacteria that live in your gut thrive depending on which foods you eat. These bacteria outcompete other bacteria that might thrive on other food, thus inhibiting your gut from metabolizing certain types of food.

So yes, there are many reasons why red meat could be related to this or even entire food groups. But why would a burrito from taco bell make someone sick over a burrito you make at home. It's just beans and a tortilla.

Depends on the person. Its starting to slow with age but most of my life I could eat like a pig everyday or near starve myself and it wouldn't affect my weight.

Yes, I use that phrase because it easier to say than sugar, fat, and salt activate taste receptors that activate interneurons, which eventually innervate the corticolimbic pathways in the ventral tegmental area of the brain, causing dopamine release and stimulation of the reward pathway. This synaptic pathway is a literally 'biological programming'

Of course, you don't need an MD or RN or even a bio degree to tell you this. Just khan academy. Or even google. You know, to say that we are literally biologically programmed to like salt, sugar, and fat LOL
