This happened to my dad in the 1970s. Some job that laid him off a year or two previous tried to bring him back. He had already moved on to better things.

Honestly right about now I could go for some of that. I want a way out of my current job and into something more personally fulfilling. Money isn't even my primary motive, I just want a more interesting job to further my career.

This happened to me. Got several emails from the Domino's I applied to in 2014. Like brah, I needed beer money while I was in college back then. Now I'm graduated, moved away, and have a big boy job. How many people are actually biting on this weak bait?

Wonder if this is why Google has been on my ass for almost 2 years (a little bit before the pandemic began but it ramped up in late 2020). Applied back in 2016 fresh out of grad school for a research position, got a programming interview instead and they asked me about gmail, and got passed on shortly after that. I have not initiated contact with them at all since then but I've been hounded on LinkedIn and a third recruiter called me out of the blue a couple weeks ago.

Now I have experience. Wonder if they lost some people who didn't want to come back into the office and are looking for people to lowball with junior positions
