I think it was just lime juice or something. My buddy from Argentina and his girlfriend from Mexico made these empanadas and gave it to my girlfriend. I don't know the details.

Anyway, ceviche is acid cooked fish & seafood with onions, peppers, salsa, avocado, etc. I even made it once. Basically just soak the raw meat in citric acid (lemon, lime, orange juice) for a bit and then mix with the other ingredients. Basically super fancy nachos.

Unfortunately my intestines weren't equipped to handle it. I wonder if they would get used to it through exposure.

They would probably be fine with the seafood. Acid cooked beef seems rougher

Oh ok. That makes sense, doesn't sound so bad. The word acid just has a harsh sound, even though it makes sense

Yeah I haven't had ceviche, but I eat sushi and sashimi when I can spare the cash just fine. I'm curious to try it after this experience. The flavor was tasty.

Oh yeah, if you can eat sushi, you'd be fine. It is found at nice restaurants that serve South American cuisine, sometimes Mexican places too. But also really easy to make, other than having to chop up a ton of things. I used fish and scallops because of a shrimp allergy, but shrimp is popular for it.
