Sometimes I catch myself thinking that I don't want to be 40 and tell myself in hindsight that, "I should have experienced the club/party life style more."

I am 44 and my friends run from like 23 to 52. So yeah, I party with people in their 20s

Depends on if you literally mean 20 or 20's. Like if they're 28/29 it's a lot less weird if they're 20-22.

Also depends on what the whole group is like. If it's mostly people in their late 20s or 30s with a few young 20s sprinkled in, it's less weird than if everyone is 23 except you

THIS.
I remember being in my 20s and there was a 40 something year old DJ that hung out in our "scene." I never really said anything but I felt deep down inside that this guy was a loser and a creep who probably didn't have the capacity to handle a more sophisticated age- appropriate setting.

I stopped partying in my mid 20s and now a room full of drinkers is worse than a room full of kids lol.

This, if friendships/groups form naturally despite age gaps, I don't see anything wrong with it. I went to a commuter school for my grad degree, one that featured many non-traditional (read: older) students. My group had people in their early 20s through their mid-40s, but since we could all relate about the same classes, exams, job prospects, and eventually careers, it hardly ever felt strange. We'd often grab dinner and drinks together. Full-on partying was less common, but it's mostly because the older friends had families and responsibilities that kept them from attending, not because we found them creepy.
