At my viewing distance, I get diminishing returns above 1440p, especially if there's a lot of post processing. But 1080p to 1440p at least is quite significant.

It depends on the size of the screen you're looking to buy. You do not want a 60" screen with 1080p. Looks bad.
The size of the screen should be determined by the size of your room and far you plan to sit from the screen. If you're sitting very close a smaller screen will work...which means 1080p is all you need. --- Go Pack! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think it is significant difference above like 50 inch tv's for both. For television I don't normally see a huge difference except for sports. A lot of TV and movies don't do 4K unless you get a 4K version. The difference is not as pronounced as going to HD from SD.
Games take good advantage of it and it can be easy to tell when they've been made for 4K. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
