tbh tho I only experienced web 1.0 for a short time. started using the internet outside of elementary school in 2004 but if counting computer lab class I used it a bit earlier in 2003.

Oh yeah, I remember accidentally finding softcore porn during computer lab class when I searched the word "cougar" (or some other big cat) on either google images or ask Jeeves and found a pic of a topless woman w/ big titties. I was around 7 years old at the time

Yeah. I remember when the internet wasn't even a thing. But mainly I used it for looking up cheat codes and stuff. Then stuff like candy stand came around and I loved playing that in middle school. Then in highschool it was all about, killfrog, stick death, joe cartoons and strong bad. Witha. Mix of kongregate and new grounds. It was a awesome time.

I had a angelfire site when I was like 8. Was a hulk Hogan fan page lol

Basically just had updates on matches he had and links to listen to his various intro themes and nwo theme

Those are relatively recent. For me old is dial up like aol.

Hell my first computer expierence was a tandy 2000. The OS on it was made by granddad who despite not having gone to college was pretty damn good with dos. He was seld taught on computers had like a dozen books on it

When I think of "older memes", Rick Roll and Chocolate Rain are the ones that popped up in my head. It was 2007-2008 when I actually learned of the term "meme". I was in middle school at that point; that's around the point I discovered stuff like 4chan and ED. I knew nerdier shit like All Your Base and Imma Chargin Mah Lazer from Newgrounds, but I don't think there were ever all that big; Rick Roll and Chocolate Rain actually crossed over into the mainstream.

But my Internet experience goes back much further than that. I started using the Internet when I was 4-5 in 2000-2001. Went on Newgrounds to watch sprite movies and stick figure movies, went on DBZ and Sonic Angelfire, Tripod, Geocities fansites, stumbled upon on some hentai, etc. I actually made my very first GameSpot account when I was 8 years old in 2004; actually my brothers did and we just shared the account. I didn't start posting on GameFAQs until 2006 when I was 10 years old; that's when I started posting on forums in general. Hoo boy, did I ever tell y'all how I got trolled on a Sega fansite at that time?

You know, I actually used to be a pretty infamous troll on many websites and message boards (and YouTube) from 2008 to 2010 when I was 12-14; I gave up that persona around the time I started high school. But as high school got more stressful, I returned to posting on message boards regularly in 2013. 2014 was when I returned to GameFAQs.
