By far his most well regarded work is A Head Full of Ghosts, the story of a reality TV show done by a desperate family trying to make it through the seeming possession if their youngest daughter. It wears its inspiration on its sleeves, but at the end of the day Tremblay tells his own unique story that is absolutely terrifying.

Disappearance at Devils Rock is a much more folklore inspired story of three teenagers and a single horrifying event, and all the devils that come with it. The story isn't honestly my personal favorite, but it still delivers at points, and had me honestly scared in a way few books do.

The Cabin at the End of the World is another personal favorite of mine. It follows a gay couple and their adopted daughter vacationing in a rental cabin when their home is invaded by three people who claim to be trying to prevent the apocalypse. Tense and horrifying throughout, with some fantastic twists.

He also has a few others, including some short story collections and a series about a narcoleptic detective, The Little Sleep and No Sleep to Wonderland. His books also tend to be very open about influences and are a great way to learn of other books that might be worth picking up:)

head full of ghosts was the first time in years i actually felt genuine dread reading a book. that last 20 or so pages are like being in a car crash in slow motion

Thanks! I did a couple other posts and it got called a gimmick, so I think it's time to embrace it. Better gimmick than arguing like a toddler over meaningless things XD
