I mean if you want to associate your average Republican with the people who stormed a government building while the President-Elect and Senate were sitting, that's your business led.

That woman was shot because she broke a window of that building - the centre of your democracy - and crawled inside with the intent of locating the President-Elect while armed security told her to stay back. She was shot because she posed a direct threat to those officers, and to the politicians of your country.

How can you support that and claim to love democracy? Isn't that the big Republican platform? Unless you think the election was stolen, in which case you might believe that what this woman did was justified.

Yeah, it's really weird. Trump supporters are trying to act like no one saw what actually happened when Ashli Babbit was shot. She was participating in an attack on the capitol and was climbing through a broken window to continue attacking the capitol.

She was probably shot because the capitol police officer had nowhere else to retreat to while protecting one or more congressional members and/or staffers.

Look dude, once you commit to a coup attempt you damn well know the consequences if you fail. Everybody involved in the storming of the Capitol deserves a bullet.

This wasn't a riot where a bulding got burned and windows got smashed, it wasn't a protest where people were blcoking a street or highway, it was an attempt to subvert the certification of an election at the US capitol via violence for the purpose of installing their own chosen leader. That is by definition a coup attempt.You cannot let people attempt to overthrow your government without there being the harshest of consequences.

arrests and prison time? like you know, what is being done?

i cannot think of a worse answer to that question than "THE LARGE UNARMED CROWD SHOULD HAVE ALL BEEN SHOT", both from a basic human morality standpoint and a standpoint of trying not to make the situation 100x worse than it already has been. If that was the route this stuff went i can't imagine how much worse things would be right now for the dems.

The police were outnumbered severely against a crowd that probably wouldnt hesitate to kill them (and didnt hesitate to assault them in some cases). Its not that they showed too much restraint, its that the chief of police and the mayor showed incompetence in refusing to prepare efficiently because they didnt want to be seen in a negative light

The police showed the restraint they needed to show to not get themselves killed. The videos of them letting people in minus maybe one cop, are them moving gates because people had already gotten around them.
