Actively punishing the responsible people who got the shot already by making them pay taxes to fund giving the ass holes a hand out.

Why? Why does the government only try the carrot? Why is it never the stick? Ban these mother fuckers from airports, mass transit, stadiums/concerts, etc... Implement a "vaccine passport" (which used to just be an "immunization record", but now EVERYTHING has to be political). If they don't want to participate in modern society by getting vaccines to halt the spread and mutation of deadly viruses, then fucking lock them out of modern society!

Being way less likely to get infected and die from it should be enough of a reward. Don't financially reward these people for putting off getting vaccinated for so long.

I had already planned to get fully vaccinated, and scheduled my first Moderna shot, when my work offered us a $100 bonus for getting fully vaccinated. So, you know, it was definitely a nice bonus rather than an incentive.

That said, with the way things are going, I might be looking at a third shot in the near-ish future. The jury is out on that one at the moment. If I was offered another Benjamin for getting penetrated again, despite being in WA instead of NY, then we'll see how much of an impact that has on my decision on the matter. I just hope the weather cools down some before I find myself wearing masks again.

The Democrats have taught me that the next time there's a pandemic, to just isolate from society and avoid getting vaccinated until I can get the maximum pay out for it.
Well, they only taught me the latter half of that, the former part is solely me not wanting to die.
But in any case, people that get the vaccine early or even not so early are basically suckers.
Great Aesop taught there, Dems! Almost as good as the one where you incentivized people to avoid going back to work when they could. Selective hand outs that reward the deplorables and punish the rational is an awesome political model! For the hat trick, let's make people who never even went to college, and are statistically poorer than those that did, pay off peoples' student loans w/ a big 'ol debt cancellation! I'm sure the people you fuck over will love that one, too!

In order: First Past the Post voting, the power of incumbency and entrenched political institutions, wildly unregulated bribery from special interests in the form of "campaign contributions", wealthy conservative monopolistic control of the media, and the left wing inherently being less cutthroat and violent than the right wing.

Among other reasons.

Eh, my work has double downed on the original $40 per dose bonus and is offering $80 per dose.. a total of $160

A few employees are asking for the $80 they missed out on by getting the shots early
