Lots of companies, especially larger ones, have nurseries and mothers can and do bring infants to work and they can periodically check in on their baby and breastfeed them on site. I'd be really surprised if Activision Blizzard didn't have such a place.

They should have one when the kid is older and in school. Not when he's still tit feeding and s***ting in a diaper.

Not sure if you missed the memo or the last 60 years or so, but women can have careers and raise young children at the same time.

No they can't. They either send them to daycare to be raised by strangers or they hire nannies if they're wealthy enough to afford that.

Lactation room is the technical term. Breastfeeding room is more slang; but some mothers do have to bring their children to work, and its not really a big deal. Say your nanny comes down with the flu, what is the mother supposed to do? Think a little harder next time.

Uh no dont bring your breastfeeding child to work

A) it probably is sick too if the nanny is sick
B) if you are watching your kid, you arent working
C) if you are working, you arent watching your kid

But yea bozos dont get that lactation rooms are super common and super necessary

Sometimes people have to bring their kids to work. Babysitters sometimes cancel for numerous reasons. Scheduling conflicts, emergencies, illness, etc. It's a part of life.

Especially with the piss poor maternity benefits a lot of companies offer.

How do you get this far in life completely lacking empathy for others?

I never want to have children. I genuinely think that a lot of people who do have them shouldn't. But even I know that only a total asshole says shit like, "Stay home with your kid, lady," because it's revoltingly sexist AND it's bad for society as a whole.

Do you know what happens to society when it becomes so prohibitively expensive and socially hostile to have a child? People stop having children! Then you end up with an upside down triangle population. Just look at Japan and their looming population crisis with a massive elderly population that cannot be supported by the relatively tiny youth/young adult population.

Also, just... have some empathy? Can you imagine how difficult it is to try to care for an infant, nurse, and work? Can you even begin to conceive of how PHYSICALLY DRAINING that is? For your body to literally provide nourishment to another?

Do you have any idea how expensive formula is? Like genuinely. Tell me how much you think one can is and how long you think it lasts.

Lol i have a 4 month old, yes i know a lot about breastfeeding and caring for a baby

Which is why i am saying dont bring them to work
They require more than half your attention

Either youre being a negligent parent, or a useless worker. Kid should win every time, so just stay home.

And fuck outta here with the "thats sexist"nonsense. Have the husband stay home with the kid. Ive already used a few sick days of my own to watch my kid.

Are the maternity laws that bad in America?

Depends which state you are in, but federally it sucks.

My company also didn't have lactation rooms 10 years ago, but were forced to after our company grew in size. We had been in violation of California law according to a work place auditor we had hired. Bathrooms did not cut it because they were unsanitary. It was an easy fix though. We just converted one of our unused office rooms.

ok so to be clear, i am on the side "dont half ass parenting" and you are on the side "do half ass parenting"

What kind of job is cool with your kid being at work that doesnt offer paid sick time?

And why does my personal experience lactating even factor in
I am completely in support of rooms for mothers to pump
Whether or not you bring kids to work has nothing to do with breastfeeding

@_Rinku_ have you personally breastfed? I get the feeling youve never had a job, much less a baby

If you have a 4 month old, then you should be aware of the fact that they sleep for about 16 hours a day. If you cant manage to work while they're asleep, then yea.. you are useless. Taking care of a sleeping infant is easy enough that you should be able to.

What you're saying is sexist; you're assigning a role to an entire gender based of their reproductive ability. You're insinuating that if a woman gives birth they should have to (potentially) sacrifice their job entirely, as opposed to the world moving forward into an age where mothers can do both.

If you're working a Mcjob, obviously dont bring your child to work. But if you're working somewhere like a DMV, Administration office, ect.. it really isnt that big a deal. Plus like someone else said, lots of companies have onsite nurseries; even my highschool did (for both students and teachers).

They can't do both. You can't be working and then at the same time caring for your child. You can't be in two places at one time.

Also keep in mind that caring for a very young child is temporary. They aren't giving up their career, just postponing it for several years.
