About to play the last episode.

I was loving the show, but these last couple of episodes are really annoying. Im falling asleep trying to keep focus because its all dialogue now and its the same introspective deep nonsense being repeated over and over. Whereas before I was just annoyed by the constant screaming by the main character & the insufferable redhead.

Going to watch the movie afterwards. In general I dont like anime. The only reason I got interested in this series was because I watched the 3rd impact movie scene on YouTube and thought it was wonderful despite not knowing wtf was going on.

You'll probably like the movie a lot more. As the legend goes, the last few episodes were originally extremely action-packed but the Japanese censor board shot the whole thing down for being way too violent for tv. With little time and no money left, the studio cobbled together what would become the anime ending. Supposedly the movie, which is action-packed and violent, is more or less how the anime was originally going to end and they just reused the script.

Legend also has it that some very nasty messages from the fans made their way into EoE

The show is just awesome giant robot vs alien fights sandwiched between still images of overhead power lines with cicadas chirping.

Evangelion is typically at its best when

• The EVAs use unconventional tactics

or, b

• The EVAs decide to just knife a guy

or C: everything falls apart and the EVA loses

Can't wait for the 4th reboot movie to be translated into English. It's been out for almost 5 months in Japan at this point...

Wow so the first scene in the film starts with our protagonist masturbating to a comatose girl.

Okay I finished it but Im left a bit frustrated & confused.

They all wanted this end of the world event where all humans are liquified into orange Fanta to be united into a god-like being, so why did they start fighting each other?

Step 1: Combine the human race into Fanta
Step 2: ???? (Whatever it is theyre fighting over)
Step 3: Become godlike

Also I feel like they just breeze past most of the angel fights in the show. Like the focus is solely on the destroying of the angels and not a lot in getting to understand them. I feel like other anime shows (I havent seen many tho) would have spent a bit more time on each antagonist.
