Ofc this last only for a short time and he becomes emo again eventually. What the heck. Imo he is very inconsistent. Most of the critiques of his character (like crying too much and being insufferable) is met by the defense squad that says stuff like "well how would you act if you died 20+ times??". "Subaru is a very realistic character and much better than the typical OP badass MC".
