Aren't the original Dead Island devs the ones who made Dying Light? Pretty sure Dead Island 2 died when those devs left to make a different game.

I loved the first one and it was a game that shockingly had a pretty cool progression through the island.. really good pacing as opposed to Dying Light anyways. They achieved these like small, not so great set pieces that made each section of the map
feel really nook and cranny-ish (which is almost the Ground Zeroes approach without the good gameplay).

Dying Light had better scale but the actual outside world just seemed like copy and pasted sections of each-other everywhere, the second map was especially barren tbh

Cant take away from the gameplay of Dying Light but I enjoyed Dead Island more

I didnt like dead island when I played it back when it came out but I played it again last winter on gamepass and I loved it.

Beat it with the big rapper guy and the lady who had a bonus with sharp weapons.
