Only if your tv can do 4k 120 hz 4:4:4. Should be comparable to the amount of data transmitted @ 8k 60 hz 4:4:4.
If your tv is limited to 4k 60 hz then the 8k cable can cause it to short circuit

I have the same TV. All I use are 8k rated cables.

I'm not really convinced they're much different than any other HDMI cable

Only if you tie a knot in the center to limit the bandwidth to a level the 4k tv can handle.

Calling them 8k cables is really a misnomer, but they generally have higher bandwidth than the older cables, so they can sendnall that data. So yeah, you'll need new cables for 8k.

But I mean if you spend what, 10000 dollars on a 8k tv I doubt you'll mind buying new cables

I bought new cables when I got my TV because it was recommended for 4K 120fps gaming.

TBH my old cables work the same so I think it could be a scam.

What device are you using that's hitting 4k 120fps? And tv?

Also no its not a scam. I plugged in my PS5 and couldn't get an image with my old HDMI cables from 2006 because they couldn't pass a 4k hdr image. Had to use the ones Sony gave
