Terry Crews is the latest public figure to weigh in on the shower debate and shared that he showers frequently because he spends so much time sweating. I took three today, Crews said in an interview with Access Hollywood. Three. Today. See, me and Dwayne [Johnson] are right. I took one in the morning, after the workout, and then I took one before I got here. And then I took one in between acts. The actor is referencing The Rock who tweeted that hes the opposite of a not washing themselves celeb, while sharing that he showers three times a day. The 53-year-old says his fitness regime makes regular showers necessary. I love to shower. I love to, because I spend so much time sweating, he continued.

First of all, if you aint been sweating, you dont need to shower, Crews said. But I spend all day sweating, all the time, running and working out, and it aint nice. My wife is like, Babe, babe, babe. Im Mr. Old Spice, you know what I mean? So Ive got to get clean.

No you do not. Your bathing schedule should be personalized to your lifestyle. Your skin does not, in fact, appreciate being soaked and scrubbed with an emulsifying base. Very active people might need to bathe more than once a day. Inactive people can do once every other day or less. 99% of your BO can be suppressed by just wearing clean clothes and using deodorant.

I think thats kind of the point is that you can just do that real quick and you dont have to take a full shower for like 10 minutes scrubbing yourself down every day if youre not sweating profusely

Also can dry out skin. If your water quality is poor or you have poor choices of product it may damage skin/hair or cause other health issues.

If your area is in or nearing water shortages it can help worsen the issue.

It can raise your water bill. If you aren't careful or have a poorly ventilated bathroom the moisture can cause mold issues and other damage.

The oil is what prevents your skin from drying out. That's why excessive bathing results in dry skin because you're constantly removing the oil.

I'm not sure what negative effects on skin result from hard water but I'm sure there's something.

I think it should be "you don't need to shower multiple times per day, if you aren't sweating." Unless you live in a clean room, you will still get dirty over time. So... Yeah you're going to have a body odor after a while lol.

My dermatologist recommends I shower every other day/every two days cause my skin dries out super quick.

but I still like to put on lotions, deodorant, cologne, etc. In the summer though i shower daily cause ya boy be sweatin.

This. You shed hair, you shed skin cells, and if you're not ashy, your skin is excreting oils or something so it's good to hose off every day. I never understood the "I took a shower last night" crew because in your sleep, you don't know how much sweating and shedding and farting you do. A good couple of mid sleep hurricane kicks will make you think you stayed dry

Yeah, I've for a long time now gone with "have a proper soap / etc wash only every 3rd day or so, but have a quick rinse in the shower at least once a day". Seems to work well enough.

You can still have shit particles/bacteria on your bhole that aren't smearing brown. It's like cleaning a spill with a paper towel but not using any liquid cleaner. You're just rubbing that shit in and not actually cleaning anything.

I'm not saying shower right after every time you shit, that's impractical. But not showering once a day (if you shit once a day) def means you have a dirty butthole. Or just get a bidet.

I shower most work days cuz I work with chemicals, but more than one a day is excessive.

That said, you can literally go weeks without showering, and you'll be absolutely fine, albeit a little smelly.

People just really like finding something to condescend one another about, despite loads of dermatological advice stating you don't need to shower everyday.
