Halle Berry is being sued over her new movie, Bruised.

TMZ reports that the actress has been named in a lawsuit by former UFC fighter Cat Zingano.

According to the court documents, Catalleges she met with Hallein July 2019 to discuss the actress new movie.

The UFC star claims that Halleinstructed her to keep her schedule clear in order to participate in the movie.

Not long after, UFC came to her with a fight offer. Catclaims she met with Halleto discuss the offer and the actress suggested she pass on the fight in order to be in the film, citing liability concerns from the movies insurer.

She ultimately decided to turn down the fight, at which point UFC released her from her contract.

Catalleges that once she informed Halle, the John Wick star said Catcould no longer be involved with the film as she was no longer a UFC fighter. She reportedly added that Hallehas cut off all communication with her.

She is suing for damages, claiming that she relied on Halles alleged promise that she would be involved in the movie.

Halleis directing and starring in Bruised, which centers on a disgraced MMA fighter who finds redemption in the cage and the courage to face her demons when the son she had given up as an infant unexpectedly reenters her life.

The actress recently revealed that she broke multiple ribs during her first day of filming for the movie.

Just curious to why Halle would make that decision, considering that Cat is still a somewhat well known fighter regardless of being in the UFC. I'm also curious to if Cat spoke with the UFC about her involvement in the film. It's a pretty shitty situation either way.

I feel like this is a little bit more nefarious because it would be like you being told to wait and then you wait and then they come back to you and say oh well youve been waiting so youre not an actor anymore so now we cant hire you

Halle is not responsible for the UFC releasing this fighter but she is directly responsible for Eva turning down the fight. Still, unless theres a booking agreement, then Eva doesnt have much of a case here, at least by industry standards, which is what I think the courts would go by. Im not a lawyer though so. Still fucked up what happened.
