When are you fucking people going to realize its not about bad owners? You could raise a Boston Terrier or a Golden Retriever since birth without any effort put in, and that dog would never attempt to bite the leg off of another dog.

I own a cocker spaniel. Mom has had a couple Bostons, my brother owns a pit bull mix, and my dad has had 5 dogs in my lifetime. My dad is by far the best trainer in my family and one of his dogs, an American Bulldog, attacked a poodle and bit them in the throat. Fortunately my dad was able to get his dog to release by pushing both her cheeks in with his hands and putting pressure with his thumbs on her ears.

Meanwhile, I have done very little obedience training with my cocker spaniel and he gets along well with all dogs. My moms dogs havent been trained period and were adopted from animal shelters. These dogs know zero commands, and yet they still have not attacked another dog in the 12 years shes had them.

And also, I was attacked by an unprovoked white shepherd earlier this year while I was at work and ended up going to the ER for a bite wound. 3.5 months later and I still have necrosis from that bite. I think I have an experience or two with dogs.

The Golden Retriever ms owner will get to sue the pit bull owner even after the pit bull is put to sleep, all medical bills related to attack include cost and time emotional distress as well. We could be talking about $250,000 - $500,000 or something. And just for stating that pit bull owners are going to get mad at me for some weird reason

Okay thank you, and you are right. In your reply to me about the type. However while looking it, while it is not technically a Pitbull with the Kennel Club, it falls under the Pitbull Type breed. And other organizations even those who are favorable to pit bulls say that the bully is a type of Pitbull. So it would seem that people do count these as Pitbulls.

Like I said, my brother has a pit bull mix. Hes super sweet 99.9999% of the time. But he has bitten my sisters hand when she was younger, and not in a playful way. Its not always the fault of the owner in every situation, sometimes dogs such as pit bulls just snap and attack on instinct.

There are no types of Pit Bulls, there is only one, the American Pit Bull Terrier. They ("they" as in the APBT, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier) have been separated long enough that they are different breeds now. They mix so much into the American Bully now that it's generally a mishsmash of bulldog, mastiff and bull breed. That website mentions the red nose/blue nose, blue is a very rare color among pure APBTs. If a person tells me that they have a "blue nose Pit", that tells me they have a bull breed mix or an American Bully. The color of the nose does not denote if a dog is a Pit Bull or not, the papers do. If the papers don't go back to a line and includes names such as Chinaman, Boudreaux, Colby, Jeep, Nigerino, Carver, Bolio etc then it's not a Pit Bull.

Lumping all of these bull breeds under the same Pit Bull umbrella is like saying that the German Shepard, Dutch Shepard and Belgian Malinois are all the same when they look different from each other and have different level of drive.

If you are going to carru sprsy on you would recommend bear repellent. My dog is gone rip but when i took her on walks id always have it with me. Thankfully never had to use it.

I would think any attacks would make it clamp harder with adrenaline.
Attacking and screaming, although understandable, may only amp the dog up more.

I'd think trying to calm it down so it won't care to continue biting, perhaps with a distraction of something it likes, would be a better solution.
But that's really just a guess.

Because most of the anti pitbull topics are just trolling. TC has an odd gimmick and just trolls about pitbulls. Hell, the dog could not be a pitbull but TC would still say it's a pitbull. Nice whataboutism though

i hate when small ass people get dogs they can't control. My neighbor used to let his daughter walk their pit and he'd drag her down the street. It wasn't until he got loose that they stopped.

They are strong dogs and harnesses don't stop that. Makes strong dogs pull more. Dog probably dragged her to the Golden.

If that happened to my dog i'd probably stabbed the pit though.

Owners are 100 percent responsible for handling their dogs. If you know that your dog is dog aggressive then you should take extra precaution to manage those situations.

Also, the dog that you posted in this topic, not a Pit Bull.

That was from a blog, and the information was incorrect.

Saying an American Bully is a Pit Bull is like saying a German Shepard and Belgian Malinois are the same thing, it's factually incorrect. The two breeds do not look alike and they have different levels of drive.
